Completing your plan
If this feature has been set up by your Cascade administrators, you will be able to access your career and development plan from the “My Career” section in the menu under your name. Here there is a template which you can use to start completing your career plan.
Once an Individual has completed an initial plan, they will have the opportunity to send it to their manager to review. Managers receive a notification and will be asked to leave a comment to review. Managers can come back and view their direct reports plans at any time via the My Team page.
These ongoing discussions can then continue throughout the year. Any time an individual or a manager comments on a plan they will be notified, and the comment will be logged in the discussion section.
If an individual wished to make a change to their plan they can resubmit it to their manager for review. Once they feel the current plan is complete, the plan can be archived and a new plan can be started.
Setting up the Career and Development plan for your people
You can switch on the career and development module from inside the Admin>System>Features page.
Here you must ensure that both the “My Career” and the “Career and Development Planning” features are enabled.
The next step will be to go the Admin>Surveys section (the plan is created in the same format as Cascade surveys, and therefore is administered in the same place): here you will see a list of templates on the left hand side. Cascade comes pre-loaded with a career and development plan template that you can use, or you can edit this template, or create your own from scratch – you can learn more about creating surveys here. Whichever method you select, it is important to ensure your survey type is set to “Career Development Survey”.
Once you have completed your career and development plan template, the template will be accessible to your people through the My Career>Career and Development Plan page. People will then be able to start their career planning process.
